The Resisteel® broaching tool is a premium-grade installation tool used when mounting Clinserts into hard materials. It is designed to pre-broach the slots needed for the insert’s Clins to anchor securely.
In materials harder than 30 HRC or 300 Vickers, the Clins cannot cut their own path — that’s where the broaching tool comes in. It creates precise slot paths for smooth and secure installation.
Why Resisteel®?
What sets this tool apart is the Resisteel® material: a proprietary, ultra-hard steel developed for extreme wear resistance. While standard broaching tools can wear down quickly in demanding materials like Inconel or titanium, Resisteel® stays sharp — offering longer lifespan and more consistent results.
The result? Fewer tool changes, better installations, and reduced downtime.
When should you use it?
Use a Resisteel® broaching tool when:
Installing Clinserts into hard metals (above 30 HRC / 300 Vickers)
Working with alloys like stainless steel, Inconel, or titanium
You want a longer lifespan for your broaching blades
You're aiming for consistent, repeatable installs with minimal tool maintenance
How to use the Resisteel® Broaching Tool
Install the Clinsert into the hole until the Clins touch the parent material.
Mark the Clins’ positions, then remove the insert.
Align the broaching tool’s blades with your markings.
Drive the tool into the material using a hammer or press.
Remove the tool and reinstall the Clinsert.
(Optional) Re-run the tap to clear out any burrs.
