  • Broaching Tool

Question:

The blades keep breaking off, do you have a solution?

Answer:

Clinserts has developed a new tool that can broach a LOT more holes than normal!

Instead of the standard broaching tool that can broach 1-3 times in Inconel 718, it was tested in real life and performed 156 cycles.

Our material which is called Resisteel, is a lot tougher than regular hardened steel blades or coated hardened steel blades.

This testing was done live by GE Aerospace on the  CF34-10E  Engine.

GE repaired 3 engines and installed 52 studs in each engine (picture below), while using the same tool to prebroach all holes (part BTR272-2)

The stud part numbers that were installed on this engine were:

2227M16P08; 2227M16P09; 2227M61P10

The new Resisteel broaching tool part numbers are:

BTR134-2
BTR161-2
BTR187-2
BTR228-2

BTR332-2
