  • Broaching Tool

Question:

The blades keep breaking off, do you have a solution?

Answer:

Clinserts has developed a new tool that can broach a LOT more holes than normal!

Instead of the standard broaching tool that can broach 1-3 times in Inconel 718, it was tested in real life and performed 156 cycles.

Our material which is called Resisteel®, is a lot tougher than regular hardened steel blades or coated hardened steel blades.

You can visit the website resisteel.eu to find out more about this material.

This testing was done live by GE Aerospace on the  CF34-10E  Engine.

GE repaired 3 engines and installed 52 studs in each engine (picture below), while using the same tool to prebroach all holes (part BTR272-2)

The stud part numbers that were installed on this engine were:

2227M16P08; 2227M16P09; 2227M61P10

When using Resisteel Broaching Tools you can only use Resisteel Broaching blades and vice versa.
