Clinserts has developed a new tool that can broach a LOT more holes than normal!
Instead of the standard broaching tool that can broach 1-3 times in Inconel 718, it was tested in real life and performed 156 cycles.
Our material which is called Resisteel, is a lot tougher than regular hardened steel blades or coated hardened steel blades.
This testing was done live by GE Aerospace on the CF34-10E Engine.
GE repaired 3 engines and installed 52 studs in each engine (picture below), while using the same tool to prebroach all holes (part BTR272-2)
The stud part numbers that were installed on this engine were:
2227M16P08; 2227M16P09; 2227M61P10
