To install self-broaching inserts, special tools have been designed in the past to install them.  These pneumatic tools though are very difficult to get, it might take more then a year, or never...

therefore we suggest to try our standard pneumatic tools to install the self-broaching inserts.

the most important inconvenience is that with our pneumatic installation tools, you cannot adjust the depth of installation.  you would need the electrical aerospace power tool to do so, which is part CLEPT-2.  that one comes then with special nose pieces that have an extra sleeve so you can have the insert be installed at a deeper depth, without having to make the countersunk bigger.  The problem here is that the electrical power tool is currently not available anymore.  so we're back to the pneumatic installation tool.

just out of curiousity, you might want to know how it worked, well the CLEPT-2 had a way to measure the resistance when turning in the insert into the parent material.  there was a setting to be able to adjust when the kees or clins would have to be installed, so adjusting his force helped to drive in the kees at the correct depth.

our recommendation is as following

in terms of force you will be able to drive in the kees of the self-broaching insert with the standard pneumatic installation tool CLPTC-1 and CLPTC-2 ; we recommend to test this, as the parent material is most likely quite hard.

if you have an aerospace application, then the problem comes with adjusting the correct installation depth.  since this cannot be set with the pneumatic installation tool, you have two options to adjust it.  You could regulate the speed of installation, which will make sure that the insert turns a bit further which helps it to install deeper.  Another option is to make the countersunk slightly deeper, so the insert will install also deeper.

CPTC-1 and CLPTC-2 might be able to replace after tests:

70950-6-0-201H , 70950-6-0-202H, 70950-6-0-203H, 70950-6-0-204H  ; 70950-6 , 70947SBK-201H , 70947SBK-202H , 70947SBK-203H, 70955SBK-204H  ; or also St Chamond Granat PH206-50 semi-automatic  insert installation air gun 649-066-160/169-0 and 649-068-001/006-0 , 649-066-150/159-0 and 649-068-020/025-0

these would have installed following inserts:
TR29000A201 , TR29000A201L , TR29000CA201 , TR29000CA201L
TR29000A202 ; TR29000A202L , TR29000CA202 , TR29000CA202L
TR29000A203 , TR29000A203L , TR29000CA203 , TR29000CA203L
TR29000A204 , TR29000A204L , TR29000CA204 , TR29000CA204L
