The number of locking kees or Clins on an insert depends on the size of the insert. 
The Clinserts either have 2 or 4 pre-assembled kees dependent on the size of the external thread. 

Clinserts with internal thread size of M6 and under for metric and  1/4" and under for imperial, have 2 locking Kees/Clins.

Clinserts with internal thread size, of M8 and above for metric, and 5/16" and above for imperial, have 4 locking Kees/Clins.

Once the kees/ clins have been installed into the parent material, the insert is locked firmly into position and is extremely difficult to be removed giving reassurance of a strong fixing.
