Question:

Can you please help me with the following questions regarding CLHM12x1.75 :

1.            Kindly supply a material data sheet for the insert material.  Please include mechanical properties.

2.            What calculation do you use to determine the stripping strength (N) for the M12 internal thread of the insert?

3.            Can the insert be installed into part material (UTS= 765 MPa)?

Answer:

The material used for these Clinserts is 1.4305 +C700 (2H) in accordance with DIN EN 10088-3.

The +C700 means that the tensile strength is always at least 700 MPa.

This is ideal for a screw with strength class 8.8

For a regular thread calculation you should have all information on hand, the thread length of the Clinserts can be found in the catalogue. .

To do the calculation you can use regular thread calculation formulas as found in technical books or online.
